MaestroJourno Leo Lap's EDSA '86 TRIBUTE FROM 13 YEARS AGO -- Exactly 13 years ago today, on February 26, 2013, I, together with the rest of the Manila Bulletin Research Team, which I headed then, had a series of feature stories written and published on the front page of the national broadsheet to commemorate the then 27th anniversary of the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution.

My story idea for that year was looking at that historical event, which, this year, has been 40 years ago, from the perspective of music associated with it: "Magkaisa" by Virna Lisa, "Handog ng Pilipino sa Mundo" by various OPM artists, and "Bayan Ko" by Freddie Aguilar.

Here's the first of three parts of that feature series. Perhaps, campus journalists can learn a thing or two here when it comes to writing feature stories. I will post the next two parts in the coming days.
