SEMANA SANTA EPR

In line with the observance of Semana Santa, the Local Government Unit of Alcoy, through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), has officially activated the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) under BLUE ALERT STATUS and established an Incident Management Team (IMT) Corner strategically located in front of Sta. Rosa de Lima Parish in Barangay Poblacion.

The IMT is composed of dedicated personnel from the:
• Municipal DRRM Office
• Rural Health Unit (RHU)
• Alcoy Municipal Police Station (MPS)
• Alcoy Fire Station
• Philippine Coast Guard

This coordinated effort aims to ensure public safety, emergency preparedness, and immediate response to any incidents during the influx of travelers and visitors in the municipality.

We encourage everyone to remain vigilant, observe safety protocols, and cooperate with authorities at all times.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council with direct supervision from Mayor Jose Eugenio B. Singson, Jr. maintains its BLUE Alert Status to ensure heightened monitoring, maximize coordination and established emergency preparedness and response mechanisms for the Semana Santa 2026 (Holy Week) Observance.

The Philippines is among the countries most vulnerable to climate change, where human-made shifts are already making storms stronger and more unpredictable. These impacts are a direct result of environmental disruption, such as the drying of vital rivers and the destruction of forests like the Amazon, which absorbs billions of tons of carbon dioxide annually to regulate the air we breathe worldwide.

Because our survival is fundamentally tied to the health of these ecosystems, climate action is no longer optional. Protecting our planet ensures a safer home for wildlife and prevents the pollution of waterways that directly threatens our public health and fisheries. Even small individual actions, like switching to LED bulbs to use 75% less energy, contribute to the collective resilience we need to thrive.
