𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 || On 30 May 2026, the 1703rd Community Defense Center, 17RCDG, RESCOM, PA, conducted the Familiarization Marksmanship for the participants of the 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐂 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐏𝐓) 𝐌𝐒 𝟑𝟏–𝟑𝟐 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐒 𝟒𝟏–𝟒𝟐 𝐂𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, held at Headquarters, 5th Special Forces Battalion, Special Forces Regiment (Airborne), SOCOM, Philippine Army, Brgy. Irawan, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

The activity aimed to familiarize the cadets with the fundamentals of fi****ms handling, range safety procedures, and proper marksmanship techniques while reinforcing discipline, responsibility, and confidence in handling military equipment. Through this training, the participants gained practical exposure and strengthened their knowledge essential to their development as future reserve leaders, fostering preparedness, discipline, and commitment to service to the nation.

Through this activity, the participants enhanced their discipline, confidence, and familiarity with fi****ms handling, further preparing them to become competent, responsible, and mission-ready future reserve leaders. The unit also extends its sincere recognition and gratitude to the personnel of the 5th Special Forces Battalion, Special Forces Regiment (Airborne), SOCOM, Philippine Army, for their invaluable support, accommodation, and assistance as host unit, which significantly contributed to the successful conduct of the activity.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 || The participants of the 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗖 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗣𝗧) 𝗠𝗦 𝟑𝟏–𝟑𝟐 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗦 𝟒𝟏–𝟒𝟐 actively participated in a series of classroom instructions designed to enhance their military knowledge, leadership competencies, and operational awareness. These classroom sessions served as an avenue for learning essential concepts, exchanging insights, and strengthening their understanding of responsibilities as future reserve leaders.

As part of the training, guest lecturers from different partner units and agencies shared their expertise and practical experiences, providing valuable learning opportunities for the cadets. Resource speakers from the 𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝟓𝐒𝐅𝐁𝐧), 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝟐𝟐, 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐂𝐃𝐑𝐑𝐌𝐎) conducted informative lectures covering various fields of military operations, public safety, disaster response, emergency preparedness, and leadership development. Their discussions significantly contributed to broadening the cadets’ knowledge and preparing them for future service and responsibilities.

Through these classroom instructions and expert lectures, the participants gained valuable knowledge, practical insights, and a deeper understanding of their roles as future reserve leaders. Equipped with enhanced competencies, discipline, and preparedness, they continue to strengthen their commitment to leadership, service, and nation-building.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 || On 24 May 2026, the 1703rd Community Defense Center, 17RCDG, RESCOM, PA, facilitated the Joint Closing and Opening Ceremony of 𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗖 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗥𝗦𝗖𝗧) 𝗠𝗦 𝟑 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗖 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗦 𝟑𝟏-𝟑𝟐 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗦 𝟒𝟏-𝟒𝟐 𝗖𝗬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 held at Gymnasium of the Western Philippines University, Brgy. Sta. Monica, Puerto Princesa City Palawan.

The activity recognized the achievements of ROTC cadets who successfully endured the hardships and rigorous military training during the 𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗖 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗥𝗦𝗖𝗧) . The completion of the program marked not only the fulfillment of academic and military requirements but also the development of essential values such as discipline, leadership, teamwork, resilience, and commitment. These qualities are vital in preparing the cadets for greater responsibilities as future members of the reserve force and in strengthening their readiness to serve the nation with honor and dedication.

As the cadets celebrated and embraced the success of their previous training, the next chapter of their ROTC cadetship journey commenced through the conduct of the 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗖 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗣𝗧) 𝗠𝗦 𝟑𝟏/𝟑𝟐 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗦 𝟒𝟏/𝟒𝟐 𝗖𝗬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔. This training program is designed to further enhance their leadership competencies, military knowledge, organizational skills, and sense of responsibility as future reserve force leaders. Moreover, it aims to equip them with the necessary foundation for advanced military education, effective leadership, and dedicated service to the nation.

Honoring the occasion as the Guest of Honor and Speaker was 𝗖𝗗𝗥 𝗝𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗣𝗛 𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗖 𝗟 𝗣𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗢 𝗣𝗡 (𝗚𝗦𝗖), 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀 (𝗨𝟗), 𝗪𝗘𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗠, whose presence added significance and inspiration to the event. In his keynote message, he emphasized the importance of perseverance, discipline, patriotism, and leadership in military service, encouraging the cadets to remain steadfast in their commitment to training, personal growth, and dedicated service to the nation as future members and leaders of the reserve force. His message further inspired the trainees to uphold integrity, responsibility, and excellence as they continue their journey in military training and leadership development.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 || On 10 May 2026, the 1703rd Community Defense Center, 17RCDG, RESCOM, PA, led by LTC ARNEL O LACHAMA (MI) PA, Training Director, conducted the Opening Ceremony of the 𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐂 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐑𝐒𝐂𝐓) 𝐌𝐒 𝟑 𝐂𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, officially marking the commencement of the training program.

ROTC cadets from various campuses of Western Philippines University, ranging from Busuanga to Rio Tuba, Bataraza, voluntarily and courageously reported for training without hesitation. They demonstrated enthusiasm, commitment, and readiness to undergo intensive military-oriented instruction, leadership enhancement, and character development throughout the duration of the program. Through a series of structured training activities, practical exercises, and leadership engagements, the participants are expected to further strengthen their discipline, teamwork, resilience, and sense of responsibility. These experiences are designed to prepare them as future reserve force leaders who are committed and capable of serving the nation with honor, dedication, and patriotism.

Gracing the occasion as the Guest of Honor and Speaker was 𝐌𝐀𝐉 𝐀𝐋𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐓 𝐀 𝐆𝐔𝐌𝐈𝐑𝐀𝐍 (𝐐𝐌𝐒) 𝐏𝐀, 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫, 𝐏𝐂𝐀𝐔, 2𝐃𝐂𝐀𝐔, 2𝐈𝐃, 𝐏𝐀, whose presence inspired and motivated the participating cadets as they officially embarked on their training journey. In his message, he emphasized the importance of discipline, leadership, commitment, and patriotism in shaping responsible and capable reservists, while encouraging the trainees to maximize the opportunity to develop their character, leadership potential, and sense of duty in service to the nation.

The activity took place at the Gymnasium of the Western Philippines University, located in Brgy. Sta. Monica, Puerto Princesa City, and served as a meaningful milestone in the cadets’ journey toward becoming disciplined, competent, and service-oriented members of the reserve force.

The opening ceremony symbolized the beginning of a comprehensive and challenging training program aimed at developing leadership capabilities, military preparedness, camaraderie, and civic responsibility among the participants.

The activity will showcase the discipline, leadership, training, and excellence of the ROTC cadets through a series of inspections, presentations, and field demonstrations conducted by participating units.

During the event, the ROTC Cadets will demonstrate their military knowledge, skills, and operational readiness through various practical exercises such as Small Unit Tactics, Combat Medic demonstrations, Map Reading, and other military-related drills and activities that highlight their preparedness and training.

Your presence and support will mean a great deal to our cadets as they proudly present the results of their dedication, hard work, and commitment to service. More importantly, your encouragement will surely boost their morale and inspire them to perform at their very best.
