When we look at a face, the brain recognises it instantly. It’s called pareidolia - we tend to see faces everywhere, even where there are none. In this work, I tried to interrupt that process. To break the usual pattern, to fragment the image, to misalign the gaze.
When the familiar shape falls apart, the mind searches for meaning and falters. But in that moment of confusion, something new can emerge: a different perspective, a more open vision. It’s not a mistake, nor destruction for its own sake. It’s a transition

Quando guardiamo un volto, il cervello lo riconosce all’istante. Si chiama pareidolia: tendiamo a vedere volti ovunque, anche dove non ce ne sono. In questo lavoro ho provato a interrompere quel processo. A rompere lo schema abituale, a frammentare l’immagine, a disallineare lo sguardo. Quando la forma familiare si spezza, la mente cerca un senso e inciampa. Ma in quel momento di confusione può nascere qualcosa di nuovo: una prospettiva diversa, una visione più aperta.
Non è un errore, né una rottura fine a se stessa. E un passaggio
