Part of our course goes into aspects of language structure foundations and basic spoken Shipibo-Konibo. In this way, our students are able to engage on a more intimate level with the culture and people. Moreover, by learning to think in Shipibo, their medicine language expands! Learning spoken Shipibo does help with your icaros believe it or not!

Maestro Diógenes sings this bewa for the Temple of the Way of Light, made freely available on youtube. This is one of the bewabo (songs) that we study during Module 1! By the end of Module 1 you are able to identify many of the root words and suffixes here. One of the basic principles we learn during our first class is that Shipibo-Konibo is an aglutinative language, so get ready to think, sing, and speak Shipibo Joi!

The classes will be held every Saturday. We invite you to read all information regarding the class in the attached images. We are very excited to hold this space once again!
