Making preparations for our next health care trip to the Napo River villages April 5. Our dates were changed due to Presidential elections in Peru April 12. Voting is mandatory in Peru so the people in the villages will have to travel to the nearest town to vote. A big thank you to our dedicated volunteers who made changes in their travel plans so we could deliver care before the election.

HPV vaccines are driving major global progress towards eliminating one of the deadliest diseases affecting women. Data from multiple countries reveals a dramatic fall in cervical cancers and precancers including:

⬇️ An 87% reduction in invasive cervical cancer in Sweden

⬇️ A 92% lower risk of cervical cancer and 81% lower risk of severe precancer in The Netherlands

⬇️ Zero cases of cervical cancer recorded among women in Scotland who received the vaccine when they were 12 or 13

Getting ready for our next Health Fair and Fútbol tournament on October 1. It is always great way to do health screenings and education, together with an all-day soccer playoff with 20 or more villages participating. First prize - a peque peque motor for the canoes.
