Harpy Eagles are perch hunters in the upper and middle canopies of the rainforest prey on large mammals, especially sloths and monkeys, as well as large birds, lizards, and snakes, which they attack by a stoop from a perch!!!
This astonishing nest is protected in a private land, along the lower Manu road at 541 m / 1774 ft

What a stunning highlight birding the northern Peru with one of the world’s smallest bird, the Little Woodstar (Chaetocercus bombus) Estrellita Chica 6 - 6.5 cm. This beauty is more likely to be confused with bumblebees than another hummingbird!!! Photographed at Refugio del colibrí espátula garden. 1751 m / 5875 ft!!!
