🏔️ Why was Cusco the capital of the Tahuantinsuyu?

Cusco wasn't chosen at random. For the Incas, it was the "navel of the world" or Qosqo in Quechua, the spiritual, political, and geographical center of their great empire: the Tahuantinsuyu. 🌎

📍 Its strategic location made it easy to connect the four regions of the empire (Chinchaysuyo, Antisuyo, Contisuyo, and Collasuyo), thanks to a network of roads known as the Qhapaq Ñan.

🛕 From here, government was exercised, major rituals were performed, and the entire administration of the empire was organized. Furthermore, Cusco was home to the most sophisticated architecture, such as the Qorikancha, Sacsayhuamán, and the palaces of the Inca rulers.

🌞 Cusco was much more than a city: it was the heart of a civilization.
