The Earth calls us naturally to a quieter space outside, so that we may remember the quiet space within.
The blank page on which the new year's story will be written.

On the edge of Life & Death, Mortal & Spirit,
Visible & Invisible, Ending & Beginning, Daily & Sacred,
the invitation to the veil and threshold at the Edge opens.

Called on to invoke, ro remember, to communion, and to silence. We create a space for our lineage and those dear to us who have passed onto the spirit realm. There they have understood and seen what is still to us, mystery.
From this place we can invite them in for counsel, for advice, for story telling and guidance.

Understanding the Wheel of the Year
gives us community and ritual, tradition and practice.
Living the Wheel of the Year makes the mundane, sacred
and gives the passing of time, ceremony.

Samhain Blessings, my loves.
Make altars, sing songs, prepare meals, light candles,tell stories, offer sweets and their favorite drinks, find photos and ask for them to accompany this cyclical step into the quiet, still, cold, darkness .... As outward, so too within.

Let the veil be opened and fearlessly allow for silence so that messages from the Otherworld may come through.

Great Cailleach, old veiled one, as the Wheel turns, may we hear your whispers of wisdom in the winds, and feel cradled in the cold. Let my ancestors know they are remembered.
