Neighbourhood Support Rotorua

Today I visited one of our wonderful Neighbourhood Support Rotorua Street Contacts, who has been looking after her street for the past nine years.

She has done an amazing job keeping neighbours connected and informed over that time, but due to illness she is now finding it harder to keep carrying the role on her own.

We had a good chat and came up with a plan. The next step is to canvas her street, encourage more neighbours to join Neighbourhood Support, and look at getting signs up so everyone knows this is a connected street where neighbours look out for one another.

This is exactly what Neighbourhood Support is about — neighbours supporting neighbours, sharing the load, and making sure no one has to do it all on their own.
