***Update on NITE 2026***

The OVRC team participated in the North Island Teams Event (NITE) over the weekend. The team made up of Hayley Apanowicz, Kirsten Carter, Julie Sammut, Sharyn Hume, Rosie McLean and Ryder Poulton formed the OVRC on Safari team and did an outstanding job representing the club.

The team placed 8th competing against teams from all across the North Island. On Saturday, the team achieved 3rd place in Team Inspection, with special thanks to Christine, Rosa, and Jamie for their efforts. The team ranked 13th in the Riding Club Mount Obstacle Course and secured 8th position in Jigsaw Show Jumping. The Quadrille was a notable highlight, as the team earned 6th place, with their safari-themed outfits leaving a memorable impression on the judges, who awarded them a perfect score of 20/20.

Sunday featured the Pairs Dressage, where the team finished 5th, along with the Teams Cross Country and Rescue Relay events, in which the team placed 8th and 6th, respectively.
A big thank you to everyone who has supported the team, whether during preparations, at the event or remotely via a message. A special thanks to Christine Jamieson and Jo Jackson for assisting in keeping both riders and horses happy at the event.
