Another significant milestone reached on one of our Wanaka projects with the timber flooring installation completed today. How good does this Riviera flooring from look?

From site investigation and concept planning to developing the working drawings and obtaining consents. It’s been a big undertaking for our team over the past couple of years to work with a billion dollar company, who are one of the largest wine producers in the world, to obtain the resource and building consents to construct three new workers accommodation dwellings within their local Pinot Noir vineyard.

From the outset, the client brief required high quality, warm accommodation for their seasonal workers that reflected their company’s values of sustainability, quality and care for their staff. The design incorporates locally sourced materials that look at home against the backdrop of the Pisa Range. Stringent council regulations for this prominent landscape meant every decision had to be considered for the local context.

Our team thoughtfully designed the layout to ensure clear separation between the shared living areas and the bedrooms to maximise comfort for the occupants. The bespoke design means that the homes are tailored to the occupants needs, rather than trying to fit a generic design onto the site. We thought of every little detail, right down to the sheltered bench on the door step to take your boots off at the end of a wet winter’s work day, before placing your wet jacket on the adjacent hanging rail in the mud room to dry overnight.
