One of the true highlights of our Southern Discovery Tour of New Zealand was spending a wonderful Friendship Day with the incredible Aspiring Quilters in Wanaka.

We were deeply touched to receive this beautiful thank you message following our visit, but the thanks truly go both ways.

To everyone at Aspiring Quilters, thank you for your warm welcome, friendship, generosity, and hospitality. Your kindness made our group feel right at home, and the connections, laughter, creativity, and shared passion for quilting created memories that will stay with us for years to come. Our travellers thoroughly enjoyed meeting your members, sharing stories, admiring inspiring work, and experiencing the wonderful sense of community that makes your guild so special.

From the alpine beauty of Queenstown and Wanaka, to the breathtaking majesty of Milford Sound and Fiordland, every stop on our Southern Discovery Tour delivered something extraordinary.

We immersed ourselves in rich Māori culture and history, experienced world-class art and cuisine, soared above stunning landscapes paragliding, raced through rivers jet boating, explored glaciers, islands, and vibrant cities, all while making memories that will last a lifetime.

From Franz Josef to Christchurch and Auckland, New Zealand gave us adventure, connection, luxury, laughter, and landscapes beyond imagination.

When heartfelt honesty lands right in the centre of your chest ❤️

Endless gratitude to the wonderful women who place their trust in us, travel with open hearts, and make these journeys so incredibly special.

A CORE MEMORY from our recent Southern Discovery Tour of New Zealand was the constant stream of mind-blowing reactions from our ladies, quite literally every time we turned a new corner, each and every day.

One lady in particular, our beloved Ali B, captured her awe, enthusiasm, and joy with the most beautiful collection of audible “wow’s”…and so, the ‘Wow-Odometer’ was born. From that moment on, every time the wow-odometer went off, it brought the biggest smiles and warmest feelings to every one of us on tour (all while we experienced our own wow moments alongside them).

As if the “wow’s” themselves weren’t gift enough, our beautiful Ali has now created the most brilliant visual chart capturing her emotions through the wow-odometer scale 💓

What makes us especially emotional reliving it all now, particularly at number 5, is knowing just how deeply our ladies held and supported one another throughout the journey. A kinship so special, it became a gift in itself.
