Well folks, the time has come for me to say goodbye to my treat making days here at Good Roots. 7 years of blending, rolling, cutting and dipping, 100,000's of lovingly created treats sold around the lands, late nights and early mornings, tears, laughs, stress, celebrations, patience, frustration, a pandemic, a divorce, homeschooling kids, a cacao shortage, growing pains, doubts, growth, amazing staff, friends, but my favorite piece - community💗 It sure has been a ride and one I want to celebrate with all of my heart! A heart that has been poured into this creation that you all embraced, shared, and loved in return.😭 OK, I'm stopping now before I cry into my phone...

With life moving forward, I have decided to close the doors to this beautiful part of my life so I can move into what now awaits. I don't think anyone wishes a world without Good Roots and I am hopeful that someone will step up and grab this opportunity with both hands, but until that may happen, we are putting our tools down and turning off our freezers on November the 20th.🙏

As with any celebration, we are going to go hard and go out with a bang with epic specials over the next 4 weeks so you can stock up!!!!🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
I know how devastated some of our loyal Good Rooters will be with this news but let's keep the vibes high and celebrate life and all the yummy things that we get to enjoy together!❤️ The next 4 weeks are going to be FUN!!!!!!!!!

It's been a hot minute since being on here and thought, seeing it's a new year, why not reintroduce myself and the WHY behind this little biz of mine. My name is Emily, and I run Good Roots from the beautiful town of Wanaka, NZ. Here I run life with my 2 amigoes - Owen 13 and Wilfred 11, who are the reason that our brand came about.🐒🐒
Back when the boys were babes, 10 years ago now, we discovered that they both had serious gut issues that resulted in some pretty horrible symptoms for their little bodies. After choosing to go on a healing health journey using food as medicine, we managed to heal the boys from the inside out following the GAPS protocol, then a paleo lifestyle. It was incredibly challenging but also ridiculously empowering.🦸‍♀️ The absolute upside was that it also transformed me into a pretty fab wholefood cook! The clear downside was that all food prep was on me, and snacks and 'treats' that we could actually enjoy were just not on the market yet.🫠
When we moved from Australia to NZ and the boys started going to kinder (AKA bit more time for mum to create) I stated feeling pretty fired up that there simply wasn't anything available that ticked all the boxes for us to enjoy as a family. You know, just SOMETHING we could treat ourselves to that maybe I didn't have to make myself. I wanted my kids to share the same experiences that other kids did - just healthier. Every party, event, farmers market, and dinner date, they were always excluded because of their dietary restrictions, and as much as I felt proud that we made our choices, I also felt sad for them. We all want to indulge sometimes, and food is the ultimate love language in my book.❤️

So alas! Good Roots was born! From the love of good food to the inclusivity of all, I thank my boys for the journey we embarked on together that has brought us here.🥰
