The regional search & rescue training exercise (SAREX) is running this weekend (Fri 15th- Sun 17th Nov) in Wanaka so you are likely to see additional police, coastguard and LandSAR vehicles and people around town.

The exercise is based out of the Outlet Camp and will be held in and around Stevensons Arm and surrounding areas. No areas are closed to the public and we will be primarily operating on private land.

Inter-agency and group training fosters collaborative working between teams and gives everyone a chance to practice and refresh search skills prior to the busy summer season.
