We’re excited to see our ole boy Gospodin race for the very first time at Ellerslie today! He went a slasher first up at Tauranga 3-weeks ago on an off-track carrying 60kg. He’ll need a bit of luck from barrier 10, but with Matt Cartwright on again and dropping 3kg, we think he’ll go a hearty race. Lessshhh go!
So unlucky. Again. His time will come!
Gigi starting off 2026 with his race day morning ritual walk and trot before heading to Ellerslie today to contest the Queen Elizabeth II Cup at 4.40pm. An exciting start to our new year!

Super proud of our hearty boy Gigi. Talk about courage. Last at the 150m mark in the Group 2 Countries Cup, nowhere to go, cops a couple of bumps on his way through and still runs 5th, just 0.8 lengths off the winner (white shadow roll out wide) A serious effort. His turn isn’t far away 🙏🏼
