After the wild weather, we got thinking… what’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever grown?
Not your standard roses or lettuces. Somthing unusual, rare or unexpected.
Drop a photo in the comments or tag us with your weirdest or coolest plant and tell us the story behind it , how you found it and why you grew it.
We’ll pick our favourite, and the winner will take home something just as weird…
A Amorphophallus konjac!
Grown for centuries, Amorphophallus konjac is known for its edible corm used to make konjac noodles , but the real talking point is the flower.
A bold, deep purple bloom with a towering spike… and a smell to match (think rotting flesh) to attract pollinators.
After flowering, it throws up a single tropical-style leaf that looks more like a small tree.
Tag us and show us what you’ve grown — let’s see how weird it gets.
