The colder weather’s definitely kicking in now and we’ve been flat out the last few weeks with heat pumps, repairs and upgrades heading into winter ❄️

One thing we see a lot is homes struggling to stay warm even though the heat pump is technically still “working”.

A lot of the time the issue isn’t actually the unit being faulty - it’s things like:
• the heat pump being too small for the space
• dirty filters restricting airflow
• older homes losing heat
• large open areas being hard to heat
• or the unit being left on AUTO instead of HEAT 👀

Even something as simple as cleaning filters can make a noticeable difference to performance and power usage.

Switchboard upgrade from earlier in the week

Replaced the older board with a new setup and added proper RCD protection.

Bit of a difference not just in how it looks, but how it operates and protects the house.

Seeing a few of these recently.

Power point had taken a bit of a hit from heaters being used a lot, paired with an older switchboard setup. Luckily the breaker did its job and tripped.

Nothing too uncommon this time of year, homes just work a bit harder through winter.

If your place is a bit older, it can be worth a quick check to make sure everything’s coping as it should.
