πΎ Thinking about getting away but worried about leaving your furry family behind? πΎ
We all know times are a little tight at the moment, but taking a break, spending time with family, and recharging your batteries is so important. Sometimes a few days away is exactly what we need to fill our cups and tackle the rest of the year.
The challenge is always the same β what do you do with your beloved pets?
For many families, kennels and catteries can quickly add up, often costing $30β$40 per animal, per day. If you have multiple pets, the costs can become significant.
One of the biggest advantages of professional house sitting is that your pets get to stay where they're happiest β at home. They can keep their normal routines, sleep in their own beds, and enjoy familiar surroundings while being cared for by someone who genuinely loves animals.
As an added bonus, a house sitter can water plants, put the rubbish out, collect mail, and keep your home looking lived in while you're away.
Something I can't stress enough is the importance of insurance. While free house sitters can be a great option, it's worth asking what happens if something goes wrong.
Years ago, we had a free house sitter looking after our own home. Unfortunately, they fell asleep with a bath running, resulting in extensive flooding. After a lot of discussions with our insurance company, the damage was eventually covered, but it resulted in an $80,000 rebuild of a large section of our home.
I'm certainly not saying that this happens often, but it taught me the value of using a professional, insured house sitter.
At Fetch and Frolic, we carry comprehensive insurance, have references available, and treat your pets like part of our own family. For many households with multiple pets, professional house sitting can work out at around half the cost of kennelling and cattery fees, while providing far less stress for both you and your animals.
If you're planning a getaway and would like to chat about house sitting, send us a message. We'd love to help keep your pets happy, safe, and comfortable in their own home.

πΎ Hello dog mums and dads! πΎ
If your furry baby would love an extra adventure tomorrow afternoon, we have room for one more dog in our lovely, relaxed pack walk. πΏπ
The weather looks like it might be turning a little sour, so let us do the muddy paws, wet coats, and exercise while you stay warm and dry! βπΎ
This is a calm, friendly group and would suit a dog that enjoys a gentle social outing with their mates.
We will be looking at doing a forest walk and returning the dogs ready for their dinners and snuggles in front of the fire.
As it's a last-minute opening, I may be able to offer this spot at a reduced rate. π
Send me a message and let's see what we can do for you and your pooch!
