Port Nelson’s annual Charity Golf Day has delivered a record-breaking result, raising $47,000 for Victory Boxing, Nelson, New Zealand with a standout $10,000 contribution from Central Express helping drive this year’s total.

Paul Hampton, Victory Boxing’s Programme Director, says the funds will make a massive difference to the club. "We are so incredibly thankful for the support of Port Nelson. Their fundraisers help us deliver our programmes and provide community support."

125 Years on the Water: Port Nelson Through Time

1909 - The first freezing steam ship, Rakaia, arrives at Port Nelson & is the first ship to use the new entrance. Fourteen thousand carcasses of frozen meat were loaded for the UK.

125 Years on the Water: Port Nelson Through Time

Port Nelson wharves 1908. The Barque Don, last top-sail schooner to visit Port Nelson, is tied up to the inside of the Railway Wharf. Foreground lies the old Albion wharf. Reclamation is underway to link the two wharves.
