Orongorongo Rover Scout Crew

Two weeks ago OO traveled up to Auckland to attend Royal Tour and Roskill's Cocktail Party. We had allot of fun exploring Auckland and spending time with rovers from around the country.

Last week at OO we split into teams of three and spent our Monday night having a Lego team building night. For the first round we picked themes out of a hat and built to their specifications. For the second round we had one team member blind folded and the other team members had to hand them pieces and instruct them what and where to build. It was a very fun night :)

This week at OO we spent our Monday night walking the newly opened Te Ara Tupua walkway and enjoyed a little KFC break on the way. On Tuesday we were invited to join Regal's annual McFormal where we all dressed up in suits and dresses and consumed our fast food with cutlery and plates with all the class that rovers can bring.

Last week OO had the privilege to crash Eddies last Monday night in the rover section. Eddie presented a slideshow about his scouting life, showing him throughout his childhood. On Saturday night we participated in a stock-take fundraiser for The Warehouse Upper Hutt, we were given scanner guns that made cool sounds and were assigned sections of the store to scan.

On Monday night the crew had a Jump Jam/Just Dance night. We all got on the dance floor and showed off our moves, following the projected video. We also ran a Jump Jam song, remembering the moves from our childhood.

Last weekend we celebrated Eddie's booting as he ages out of Rovers. Eddie joined rovers back in 2019 and has made many memories with every rover he has encountered on his journey, he will be greatly missed by all of us.

Huge shoutout to for hosting an epic booting. We were stoked to catch up with the crews from across the country to give a legendary mate the send off they deserve.

On Monday night the crew had a “get to know each other” night! We all filled out a google form with quirky questions the night before, and then spent the night playing various games and quizzes about our answers 🐗🟡⚫️

ANZAC Day 2026

We joined the rest of the Lower Hutt Zone Scouts NZ for the Petone ANZAC service, followed by a traditional trip to McDonalds for breakfast!
