Today was our last round robin game,
We played the mighty NaeNae Gold team. Another game played in great spirits and importantly for PWMC we came away with a win, leaving us teatering with results falling our way a possible appearance in the semifinal.
Great bowling today from the boys restricting NaeNae to 126 off their allotted 20 overs. We achieved our target in the 18th over, helping our run rate. Congrats to Aaron, Paul and Darin who got us through.
Lastly thank you Brian, and Gareth who hosted us at the clubhouse afterwards.

Today we were very excited to defend our hold on the Jack Baker Shield. The first time we have back to back won 3 victories since 1973. Shaun, and his team thank you for a fantastic day and we look forward to coming together at Easter to make a challenge to RWMC at Easter.

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1AqTSkCq3k/?mibextid=wwXIfr congrats to Glen Neal and Aaron Havill for making the Wellington over 50’s IPT for over 50’s. Well done lads.

The following 27 cricketers have been selected to represent the Wellington Firehawks at the National Interprovincial Tournament (IPT) being held in Wellington from 5-9 March 2026. Congratulations to all those selected, including a number of our “youth pathway players” who will be making their IPT debuts in the 50s division. Both teams will be striving to keep up the very high standards of the past two years where we have made the finals in both divisions.

The IPT continues to grow from strength to strength with the 2026 Wellington edition expanding to 6 teams in both divisions. It is going to be fantastic to see new teams and new friends joining the 50s whanau, from Otago, Central Districts and Northern Districts, as we continue to develop the game in Aotearoa New Zealand.

It is however, tinged with some sadness as our mates from Tasman that have been part of the Firehawks whanau since 2018 join Central Districts from 2026. I am sure that there will be some healthy competition and great laughs when we see our Tasman brothers suited up in green in March 2026.

Go well Firehawks (both old and new). Soar high.
