Wow… I had completely forgotten just how stressful buying and selling a house can be!

The past little while has been a whirlwind, juggling selling my place, navigating offers, dealing with building inspections, and trying to secure my next home all at the same time.

And honestly? It’s been a rollercoaster.
Starting out in a multiple offer situation gets your hopes sky high… only to have things fall over and suddenly you’re back to square one.

It’s tough.
It’s emotional.
And it definitely tests your patience.

On the flip side, buying hasn’t been any easier.
The Southland market is busy right now, I missed out on three properties (two in multiple offers 😬), which was pretty disheartening at the time.

But… persistence paid off.

With just a month to go until settlement (no pressure at all 😅), I’ve finally secured a home, and now it’s full steam ahead ticking off conditions and getting everything lined up for the move at the end of May.

Right now it’s all about packing, cleaning as I go, and trying to stay one step ahead of the chaos.

What this whole experience has really reminded me of though… is how important your support network is.

From an incredible agent keeping me grounded, to friends and family who’ve listened, reassured, and kept me sane, and even a neighbour popping over with a bottle of bubbly to celebrate 🥂

I’ve felt very, very lucky.

It’s also been a bit of a reminder (and validation) of what I do in my own business, helping people stay organised, reduce overwhelm, and keep things moving when life or work gets messy.

Because when you’re in the middle of something stressful, having the right support around you really does make all the difference.

So here’s to new beginnings, a fresh chapter…and also not doing this again for another 8–9 years thanks very much (I'm sure my son would agree, his expression says it all!) 😂
