Te Arikinui Kuini unveils $30m kotahitanga fund to strengthen independence Te Arikinui has set her vision for the future: one that rejects reliance on government support and instead builds an independent Māori economic path.

As we reflect on the whakapapa of the Kiingitanga we cannot deny the lasting importance of this movement for all Māori. It is clear that as we enter this new era there is a great sense of hope in the air. Our second Arikinui to take the mantle of Kuiini after Kuiini Te Atairangikaahu, we remember all the mahi that has been and all that is to come. We also honour the memory of Kiingi Tuuheitia Pootatau Te Wherowhero te Tuawhituu, Te Kiingi o te Kotahitanga. Nau mai e Te Arikinui, Kuiini Nga WaiHono i te Po te Tuawaru. 06/09/2024
