It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved pāpā, Allan Hautangirua Anderson.

He is currently resting at home at 21 Durham Street, Nawton, Hamilton, where whānau and friends are welcome to come and pay their respects.

On Monday 4 May, we will leave Hamilton at 10.00am, travelling with Dad to Otewā Marae. We will make a brief stop at our whānau whare at 46 Turongo Street, Ōtorohanga, before arriving at the marae at approximately 11.30am to be received.

His nehu will take place on Tuesday 5 May. The service will be held at Otewā Marae

995 Otewa Road RD5, Otewa.

at 11.00am, followed by interment at 12.00pm. Hākari will be held at 1.00pm.

He leaves behind his wife Adaline, sons Daniel and Allan, daughter-in-law Wikitoria, and his mokopuna, alongside his wider whānau.

We welcome all who wish to come and honour and remember him.

On ANZAC Day, we stand in quiet reflection—hearts anchored in gratitude, minds turned to those who walked before us.

We remember the courage of souls who answered a call greater than themselves, who left behind homes, whānau, and dreams to serve with honour. In distant lands and uncertain times, they carried not only the weight of duty, but the enduring spirit of Aotearoa and Australia.

At dawn, as light breaks the horizon, it mirrors their legacy—steady, unyielding, and eternal. Their sacrifice is not lost to history; it lives on in every generation that pauses, remembers, and gives thanks.

May we honour them not only in silence, but in how we live—through unity, compassion, and the strength to stand for what is right.
