Blenheim Riverside Railway

The train today is canceled due to the river level being over the tracks and our trains not making very good submarines.

Due to flooding of a section of our track, beyond our control, our passenger trips to BEAVER STATION will instead stop at, and return from FULTON STATION, until the river can be cleared.

Aqua cycling might be the latest thing in downtown Blenheim but it is not recommended.

Various environmental factors have combined which means we will have to put up with a flooded boardwalk at the amphitheatre for a bit longer yet.

The wet summer on top of two major storms over the last two years has meant increased siltation - or aggradation - of the river bed. And while we can't cut the river weeds during the whitebait spawning season from February to April we can start cutting again on Monday 1 May. We can also remove some of the sediment and gravel.

In the meantime please walk or cycle around the flooded bit. The Eastern side is dry.
