Queen Charlotte Drive is now closed from Havelock to Picton, due to multiple slips and flooding at the Havelock causeway.
Tyntesfield Road is closed from the start of the road due to flooding.

☔️ Update Tuesday 7 July 1.35pm
The landfill will remain closed for the rest of the day. This will be reviewed at 6.00am tomorrow.
There will be no waste collection today and if you are in the collection area you will be collected on Saturday morning. All recycling was collected as planned today.
All other waste sites are closing if they have not already.

☔️ Weather Update Tuesday 7 July 10.15am
Marlborough Emergency Management is activated and monitoring the Heavy Rain Warning - Red for southern Marlborough.
Conditions are manageable but the Incident Management Team remains vigilant. The areas most at risk are south of Ward and southeast of the Awatere Valley, though significant rainfall is affecting the whole district.
Residents are advised to stay alert - there is a high chance of slips, impassable roads, power outages and loss of communications.
🌊 FLOODING AND WASTEWATER
No river flooding expected at Spring Creek or the Wairau River. However, stormwater and wastewater systems in Blenheim and possibly Picton may be under capacity. If your toilet is flushing slowly, please limit flushing.
🗑 WASTE COLLECTION
Picton kerbside collection is on hold. Transfer stations are closed today.
🌳 PARKS AND RESERVES
All closed except Puna Wai hockey turf, College Park, and Lansdowne Park netball courts. Avoid Taylor River Reserve - it is flooding.
🚗 ROADS - avoid all non-essential travel
SH1 Picton–Kaikōura: open but dangerous
SH1 south of Kaikōura: closed. A soft closure will be in place at Riverlands advising road users of this closure further south.
Inland Route 70/Inland Kaikōura Road: closed
SH63 (Kawatiri Junction to Howard Valley Road): closed

The rain warning took effect from 4pm yesterday and runs to 3am Wednesday 8 July for Marlborough and Canterbury, between Ward and Hanmer and southeast of the Awatere Valley, including the Kaikōura ranges.
