Mobility Dogs

Even Spencer knows when something's worth raising an eyebrow about - and a huge thank you to The Trusts certainly qualifies. Their generous grant is going towards the rental of our Mobility Dogs HQ, the place where dogs like Spencer get to learn, grow and become life-changing companions. Learning to navigate public transport is a huge part of an assistance dog's training. Eddie's out getting comfortable with bus stops, timetables (well, the smell of them anyway) and all the sights and sounds that come with it. Every outing like this builds the confidence he'll need for a lifetime of helping his future handler get around.

One of the things a Mobility Dog learns is how to help at a counter or checkout — staying calm in a busy, unfamiliar environment while their person goes about everyday life. It might look unremarkable from the outside, but the focus and steadiness required to do this well takes a long time to develop. This golden boy has got it sorted. 🐾💚
