About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Excavator Operator to join our team for a two‑week project in Whangamata. You will be operating 5–10 tonne excavators to support site preparation and earthmoving activities, working closely with supervisors and crew to ensure the project runs smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate 5–10 tonne excavators for digging, trenching, grading, and earthmoving tasks

- Conduct daily pre‑start checks and routine maintenance to keep equipment safe and operational

- Read and interpret site plans, drawings, and instructions accurately

- Load and unload materials with proper handling and placement

- Collaborate with site supervisors, labourers, and other operators to meet deadlines

- Maintain a clean, safe worksite in line with health, safety, and environmental standards

- Report equipment faults, hazards, or incidents promptly

Requirements

- Valid excavator operating license/certification

- Proven experience operating 5–10 tonne excavators

- Ability to read and follow site plans and instructions

- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
