Every home has a natural daily rhythm. Like breathing, our homes expand and contract each day.

The mornings are about expansion, welcoming the day. This time of day is about opening up, gaining momentum and building up energy to fuel the day.

The evenings are about contraction, drawing inwards and preparing ourselves for rest and replenishing through sleep.

Aligning with the natural rhythm of your home is incredibly beneficial. Creating daily habits that attune to the rhythm of your home brings balance and calm.

These daily habits or practices are ideal for building a particular emotional state in your home. You can create a sense of calm, peace, nourishment or vitality with simple daily habits.

The emotional state I am focusing on right now is one of nourishment. The change in season from hot to cool is a contraction state of being that can be reflected in our homes.

Many of us are tired as the last couple of years have been hard on families. We need a season of healing and nourishment.

Simple things like the food we cook, the oils we use and the colours we surround ourselves with can help to create a feeling of safety and protection.

I have created a seasonal guide around the emotion Nourish. This guide encapsulates how to create nourishment in your home through colour, design, essential oils, rituals, food, books and more. There will be an e-book and a video plus the option of my Pinterest board and other resources.

We NEED nourishing homes right now and that is why I created this guide.

The Nourish Seasonal Guide is available via this link. It’s available for 10 days only. There’s an early bird bonus for orders before Monday (11th April tomorrow!) of access to my Pinterest boards.

It’s here and I could not be happier. The Nourish Seasonal Guide is live 🔥

This guide is everything I have woven into my home over the last 7 months. I have moved us from a home that feels scattered and frayed to one that feels comforting and nurturing.

Make no mistake, my home is not perfect. I have two teens and there is chaos and hormones. Let’s call it exciting haha.

But

I know that we return to a baseline of peace so much faster than we did before. And that’s because of the nourishing habits that are embedded in my home.

We NEED nourishing homes right now and that is why I created this guide.

The Nourish Seasonal Guide is available via this link. It’s available for 10 days only and then its purpose will be complete.

There’s an early bird bonus for orders before next Monday (11th April) of access to my Pinterest boards. Then the cart closes next Friday (Good Friday 15th April)

When I mention that I am an interior designer it's usually the same reaction. A kind of “ohhhhh”.

I know what they are thinking and it’s “what does she think of my home?”, closely followed by “I wonder what HER home looks like?”

I am sure many people are surprised at how ordinary my home looks. I don’t subscribe to the magazine version of what a designer’s home should look like. I wonder how people live in many of the homes I see in glossy magazines.

The home I desire is loved and lived in. It is a nurturing container for the humans it holds.

My home has scratch marks on the dining room table from enthusiastic drawing, handmade crochet blankets on the sofas, a large black and white cat that sheds, and books lying everywhere.

I am a really good interior designer (I own that) and I am passionate about a house being a home. And that does not mean a curated staged and clinical space. A home lives and breathes around the people that inhabit it.

EVERYONE can have the home they desire. Whatever that looks like.

If I could wish anything for other women, it would be that they believe they can create the home they desire.

Because you CAN.

The home you desire is allowed to change, as the humans change within it. We can create an emotional space in our homes that reflects the needs we have.

And on that, if you need to create a sanctuary right now, because let’s face it we are a little tired after 27 months of crazy…… I got you.

My Nourish Seasonal Guide launches TOMORROW. This is about building in balance after a season of stress, busyness or depletion. If you are keen to pop on the waitlist, here is the link 🧡

There are so many of us in isolation at the moment. We need to spend 7 days at home with our families if someone tests positive for the virus.

Just like lockdown, isolation can feel heavy. The whole family together at home, for 24 hours of the day…that’s a LOT of emotional energy in one space.

During our own isolation period these are the simple things I did which made a huge difference:

:: Get the air flowing through your home. Throw open the doors and windows and allow the home to breathe.
:: Play music. I searched for “happy” on Spotify and picked a couple of playlists. I didn’t have to think too hard about it and the music lifted the spirits.
:: Use your diffuser! Oils like Lemongrass and Peppermint make the house smell amazing and are also known for clearing stale energy.
:: Tidy up. Keeping your home relatively tidy helps with the overall energy in the home. I use the word relatively as having everyone at home means tidy standards do need to lower (for your sanity).

The bottom line is that we ALL have the ability to shift the emotional temperature of our homes. We don’t have to put up with a heavy “yucky” feeling home. It’s easier than we think to clear the energy in our homes 💚
