Exaro is at the forefront of innovation in safety by partnering with Blindsight to trial advanced AI for blind spot’s on our skid steer and other high risk plant. These cutting-edge features are designed to eliminate risks, ensuring a safer work environment for our operators and enhancing overall site safety.
For Operators
“I find the blindsight on our skid steer very useful especially when having to maneuver into tight spots with lots of people around. The cameras give us a clear view of those blind spots that we otherwise wouldn’t be able to see, making the whole operation much safer and more efficient” Hoani Harris – Operator
Blindsight enhances operator awareness by covering blind spots and ensuring that no person or specified object are within exclusion zones. This compact, in-cab alert system uses simple, bright LED lights, audio beeps, and vibrations to notify operators when an object or person is detected, without adding the distraction of another screen.
• Non-intrusive alert system keeps operators focused on their work
• Customizable alerts tailored to the machine and specific tasks, such as alerting only during reverse operations to prevent alert fatigue
For Supervisors
Blindsight lowers the site's risk profile by providing comprehensive, visual, video-based reporting. Safety managers and supervisors gain a big-picture overview of assets and triggered alerts through map-based locations and heat maps, enabling proactive identification of high-risk areas and thorough reporting of near misses. The video footage serves as an effective training tool for toolbox meetings and site induction processes.
• Automatic alert notifications
• Visual reporting with heat maps, video recording, and location data
• Powerful, visual training tailored to your site's specific processes
“Having blindsight on our machine gives me confidence that the operator in the machine knows his surroundings at all times, this also adds another control to mitigate further risk to staff or property damage.” Kane Wight – Senior supervisor
We are really excited to be trialing this new AI technology!

Proud of the team doing the good Mahi. 💪🏼
We're reopening State Highway 1 over the Brynderwyns to all vehicles in both directions at 6am on Monday next week, 1 May.
Roadworkers have made great progress during the closure. They've worked across all three overslips in the slip area, including work like cutting back the hillside to move it further from the road, and removing loose material to make the road safe.
We're looking forward to reopening the road on Monday. We'll still be onsite removing material from the southern slip sites. Until Monday morning, keep an eye on this post for updates, including detour information: https://www.facebook.com/nztanorthland/posts/pfbid02C8a8cRuWfD5tDbyGsUWXWQrJvdmYjpziunE4zYRXZpaL4rdwGwzN4PUDGC3st64ol
