The Positive Pants

I’ve stopped thinking about life as one long story. I think of it as chapters. My husband and I were just walking along the beach chatting about the various chapters we have been through since we have been together nearly 30 years 😅👵 We both agree that we have just walked through the hardest chapter of our time together. And yes there have been some crackers throughout 😅

And now we are ready to step out of survival mode and fully embrace thriving mode 😅🩷

The way I see it is that some chapters of our life are full of joy, adventure and laughter. Some are about building. Some are about letting go. And then there are the chapters you never would have chosen.

This is the chapter where your heart gets broken. The chapter where you’re exhausted. The chapter where you lose someone you love. The chapter where cancer, burnout, grief or anxiety becomes part of your story. The chapter where your kids leave home.

When you’re living through those chapters, it’s easy to believe they’ll become your whole book. But they don’t. They just don't need to.

The hardest chapters often become the ones that shape you the most. This for sure is something I fully believe now. They teach you what really matters. They strip away what isn’t important. They introduce you to strengths you never knew you had. And one day, they become the chapter you look back on and realise changed the entire direction of your life.

I’m grateful my hardest chapter wasn’t the end of my story. It became the beginning of a very different one. And yes it did take me a while to see this in the midst of grieving my "old life"

So if you’re in a difficult chapter right now, I ask you this, please just keep turning the page.

This chapter deserves to be honoured, but it doesn’t get to write the ending. It might be the very chapter that shapes the rest of your life.
