🌿 WĀNANGA TAKIWĀTANGA 🌿
Autism Awareness Through Lived Experience

RSVP : Xabilities.com/events

What does autism really look and feel like beyond the stereotypes, labels, and clinical definitions?

Join Tamara Grant for a powerful two-hour wānanga exploring autism through lived experience. Through personal storytelling, education, and open discussion, gain deeper insight into the realities of autistic lives, including:

✨ Masking and the hidden challenges many autistic people face
✨ Sensory experiences and communication differences
✨ Identity, wellbeing, and autistic burnout
✨ Navigating education, employment, healthcare, and support systems
✨ Strengths, abilities, and pathways to thriving
✨ How we can build more inclusive and supportive communities

This is more than an awareness session. It is an opportunity to hear directly from lived experience, ask questions in a safe and respectful environment, and deepen your understanding of autism beyond what is often taught in traditional settings.

Perfect for:
💚 Parents and caregivers
💚 Educators and teacher aides
💚 Health and social service professionals
💚 Employers and community leaders
💚 Neurodivergent individuals and whānau
💚 Anyone wanting to learn more about autism

🗣️ Includes an open Q&A session where real questions can be asked and authentic conversations can take place.

Through awareness comes understanding. Through understanding comes acceptance. Through acceptance comes belonging.**

📍 RSVP to attend.

My body was telling me I was doing too much.

My immune system was exhausted.
My nervous system was exhausted.
I was exhausted.

And deep down, I knew I needed to let something go.

So I did.

I let go of the pressure to constantly meet beauty standards.

The getting ready.
The pressure to always look “put together.”
The idea that my worth was connected to how polished I looked.

Now I use that energy to survive, heal, create, parent, work, and actually live.

Turns out…
peace and authenticity be a hair chop away 😂

Cutting ties the old fashioned way
