🌿 Landscape as Atmospheric Architecture

The best landscapes are often revealed, not reinvented. 🌿

When I first became involved with this garden, the structure was already in place. Beautiful pleached hedging, strong geometry, elegant proportions, and a timeless palette had established an exceptional framework.

My role was to build upon those foundations, introducing a sculptural water feature, artwork, and layered underplanting to enrich the experience of the space.

The goal was not to add complexity.

It was to add meaning.

The gentle sound of water now animates the garden. The sculpture creates a focal point and moment of discovery. The underplanting softens the architecture and weaves the various elements together into a more immersive landscape experience.

A reminder that great design is not always about starting again.

Sometimes it is about listening to what a garden wants to become, then making a series of thoughtful interventions that allow it to reach its full potential.
