Love Drama Whānau!!
You were all magnificent last night! It was such a delight to see all our actors step out on the stage again.
And once again, a HUGE thank you to all the students who stepped up enthusiastically to help with extra roles, and to organise our stage for the shows. Theatre is truly a team endeavour!

It's 2022! What will it bring? I'm from the School of the Relentlessly Optimistic, and I see young Thespians once more treading the boards. I'm so delighted and relieved to be returning to live classes in the theatre! Online theatre classes provide many surprisingly stimulating opportunities - but it's just Not The Same. See you all in the theatre!!! 🎭🤩🥰
Kia ora everyone in our Love Drama whānau!
Tremendous respect to you all for hanging in there, despite there being no live theatre on offer! I must say, we're all learning a lot of new skills via Zoom....I am grateful we have the technology to keep the creative flame alight! We are, of course, dependent on government decisions (which are, of course, dependent on the Rake's Progress of SARS-CoV-2). This means UNCERTAINTY. I'm sorry about that, everyone. We must Zoom until 29 November, and what we can do for our last two weeks of term will depend on which traffic light colour we are. I would love to show you some of the scenes the children have been working on - there's some great material there.
In the meantime - we have had a record number of children sitting Speech NZ, from Grade 3 through to Diploma (all via Zoom!) - and they have all achieved amazing results. So proud of you all 🥰🤩
Theatre Never Sleeps
Aaaand it's time for the Term 2 shows. So interesting to see themes emerge - so far, across the two shows, we have five weddings (but no funerals!), two pirate treasure quests, a team of Merry Brigands, plenty of sword-fighting, and a ferocious fire-breathing dragon. He likes his marshmallows toasted. So, much light-hearted merriment to warm the winter cockles! See you there - Saturday 3 July Junior Show 4.30pm, Senior Show 7.30pm🤩
Woah! Where did Term 1 go?? After a rather stuttering start to the year, we are super-keen to share our work with you!
Both the Junior and Senior shows are on Saturday 17 April.
The Junior Show is light-hearted, but it will extend our youngest actors.
The Senior Show is more of a patchwork - we'll explore some serious issues, and poke fun at a few others! It's what theatre is all about - a way to reflect on what really matters to us....
Can't wait to see you all there!🤩🤩🤩
