If you are one of our customers, chances are you already know Jim. For over two years, he has been the friendly face delivering your orders, helping you with your casket needs, navigating the roads with a smile and bringing a great story and a classic joke to every single drop-off. He’s also a natural at making sure you’ve topped up on the essentials, so if you’ve ever ordered a little extra after a chat with him, just know he’s making sure you don't run short!

But what you might not see is the massive impact Jim has when he pulls back into the yard and steps off the road. When he isn’t driving, Jim is right there with the rest of the crew back at the factory, working, problem solving and fixing whatever is broken. He is committed to efficiency. Forever resourceful, he’ll find a way we can improve our systems and help us implement it.

Whether he is behind the wheel navigating his routes or on the factory floor tweaking our systems, he brings a rare mix of dedication and genuine community spirit to everything he does.

Outside of work, Jim keeps just as busy. He enjoys cooking (in his words, "pleasing people's palates") and has an interest in horse breeding. On top of all that, he is always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

We are incredibly lucky to have a true "good bloke" on our team. Thank you, Jim, for keeping our deliveries moving, helping things run smoothly in the factory and always keeping us entertained.

The Kōwhai Whitewash is part of our traditional range, made from solid New Zealand pine. A flat lid, a fine groove around the base and a delicate whitewash finish that lets the natural grain show through.

Handles, nameplate and thumbscrews are all optional, so families can choose the level of detail that feels right for them.

A matching urn is also available for families who choose cremation.

Our Kōwhai caskets come in a range of sizes, so every loved one can be farewelled with the dignity they deserve.

Part of our traditional range, the Kōwhai Rosewood is crafted from solid New Zealand pine, thoughtfully made, with care in every detail.

A flat lid, a subtle groove running around the base and a rich rosewood water-based satin finish that brings out a warmth and depth of colour that shifts gently with the light.

Handles, nameplate and thumbscrews are all optional, so families can choose the level of traditional detailing that feels right for them.

For families who choose cremation, our matching urn shares the same rich finish to honour their loved one.

Sailors once used the term "hold fast" to describe gripping a rope securely.

The Tasman's Manila rope handles carry that same idea.

The same rope was once used to secure fences, tie down roofing and hold timber and walls together on farms and building sites, as well as mooring boats and raising sails.

Rope handles for the final carry, a fitting tribute for a life spent farming, building, hunting or out on the water.

Recently, an elderly gentleman visited our workshop. He'd seen our Artisan casket in a magazine from 10 years ago and simply wanted to buy it and store it at home, knowing his wishes were taken care of.

✅ Work with them to pre-plan and pre-pay your funeral through a secure trust (via FDANZ)
✅ Your wishes are recorded, your family is spared the guesswork
