Did you know Auckland Council is the only Council in NZ that offers kerbside recycling of Liquid Paper Board (commonly known as ‘Tetra’)? The ‘Tetra’ is then freighted offshore for recycling - carbon miles galore!
The Government’s proposed Recycling Plan does not include ‘Tetra’ in their national kerbside collection scheme, despite the packaging being the lowest carbon packaging available.
There is a cool company in Hamilton accepting used ‘Tetra’ like Otis Oat Milk cartons and turning them into much-needed NZ building products like plasterboard. Win win!
