Tōtara is a species of podacarp tree endemic to New Zealand found across the entire stretch of the country. This elder and tree has been a favourite of hands and hearts for centuries it is rot-resistant makiing it a prized for its hardy wood to make tools, sacred implements, weapons and carvings.

The memory of this wood can tell stories of other times. Its persoanlity can be sleek and creamy and can come in an array of darker red hues. In admiration of this beautiful being. Thank you for revealing yourself to me along my path. 🌳
