Hello from the new faces behind Peaceful Paws 🐾
We’re Dr. Shannon Cassidy and Dr. Dearbhla Owens, and we’re honoured to introduce ourselves as the new owners of Peaceful Paws.
Many of you will know and love Molly, the previous owner of Peaceful Paws. We’ve been lucky to work closely alongside her, and while we certainly miss her presence here in Aotearoa, we’re excited for her as she begins a new chapter in Australia.
We officially took over the reins in July and have been quietly continuing the dignified, gracious goodbyes that Peaceful Paws is known for.
As experienced emergency and critical care vets, we’ve seen just how important it is for families to have a gentle, peaceful way to say goodbye to their beloved companions. That’s why we’re so passionate about continuing the heartfelt mission of Peaceful Paws: providing compassionate, in-home euthanasia services.
Our goal is to help make a deeply difficult time a little more bearable - by providing the space and time to say farewell in the comfort of your home; ensuring your pet is safe and comfortable.
We’re here for the pets (and people) of Auckland wide and it’s our privilege to support you during one of life’s most tender moments.

Recognizing pain in our beloved pets is not always as easy as it is for our human family members, but this does not make it any less important.
Learning to recognizing ways that our animals may show (or hide) pain is an extremely valuable tool. This is especially important in our pets who are getting older and we may have concerns about their quality of life.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch with myself or your pets general practice to discuss end-of-life care and a peaceful in-home euthanasia when the time comes.

Hi everyone, it’s with great sadness that I write this post… 😟
I’ll soon be heading to Australia to focus on furthering my career in emergency medicine and critical care. I’d just like to say a huge thank you to the many families who've entrusted Peaceful Paws with the care of their loved ones over the last year. It's been a blessing to be able to help at such a sensitive time! 💙
Peaceful Paws will be having a short service pause over the next 1-2 months but will soon be continued by Dr Molly Leggett. If you need a home euthanasia service in the interim, please contact your regular vet to discuss alternative options in your area.
Best wishes for 2023, and goodbye for now 👋🏾
