Why Speaker Placement Matters More Than Speaker Brand

When planning a commercial audio system, many people focus first on speaker brands, power ratings and price.

But even the best speaker cannot perform properly if it is installed in the wrong place.

Speaker placement determines:

How evenly sound is distributed
How clearly people can understand speech
How much sound reflects from walls and glass
How likely microphones are to produce feedback
Whether multiple speaker zones work together correctly

For example, placing all speakers at the front of a room may make the front seats too loud while people at the back still struggle to hear.

Increasing the volume is not always the answer. It can create more reflections, reduce clarity and increase feedback risk.

Professional audio design considers the correct speaker type, quantity, spacing, coverage angle and relationship between speakers and microphones.

In larger spaces, DSP delay alignment may also be required so that sound from different speaker zones arrives at the right time.

A reputable brand provides reliability and performance potential.

But placement, coverage design and calibration determine what people actually hear.

The question should not only be:

“Which speaker brand should we buy?”

It should also be:

“Where should the speakers be installed so everyone can hear clearly?”

Good audio is not created by equipment alone.
It is created through correct design, placement and calibration.

Not every meeting space needs to be fixed.
This video shows the full setup of a recent Yealink Meeting Display + video bar + CTP25 Microsoft Teams Room solution, installed on a mobile trolley.
The result is a flexible meeting solution that can be moved between different spaces when and where it is needed.
For many workplaces, this can be a practical alternative to building a fully fixed meeting room in every area. Whether it is a project space, training room, temporary meeting area, shared office, or multipurpose room, a mobile Teams Room setup gives teams more flexibility without compromising the meeting experience.
A successful deployment is still about more than just putting equipment on a trolley.
It requires the right display height, camera position, cable management, power planning, device configuration, network connectivity, and user testing to make sure the experience is simple and reliable.
When done well, people can walk in, move the system into place, tap to join, and start collaborating.
Flexible spaces need flexible technology.

We recently completed another meeting room AV installation.
This room includes:
An Epson ceiling-mounted projector
A large motorised projection screen
A Yealink PTZ camera for video meetings
3 Yealink ceiling microphone for clear voice pickup
6 Ceiling speakers for even sound coverage
A room control panel for simple operation
The room is designed for presentations, training sessions and online meetings.
The setup is simple: users can display content, join a video meeting and speak clearly without needing to move equipment around.
Everything is installed neatly into the room, keeping the tables and walls clean and easy to use.
