We are saddened to share that Roy passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 25, 2026; after a short illness handled with his typical pragmatic approach.

Beloved husband and best friend to Deb, treasured father and father-in-law of Claire and Eli, Simon and Olivia, Angus and Rosa, good friend to Tim and Gemma, Ben and Lauren, cherished Grandad, Grandpa and Wiri to Penny, Annie, Charles, Leo, Patrick, Otis, Mila, Billy, Lola, Fox, Rosie and Ned, loved son of the late Jan and Keith Gawn, brother and brother-in-law of Brett and Fay, Sheryl and Geoff, Russell and Karen, Kristen and Graeme, loved and respected uncle of Bec, Martin, Emma and Jake.

This Saturday, 25 April, we pause to honour the courage and sacrifice of those who served, and those who never came home. We remember them with gratitude.
