Update day 5: GODZone Adventure race
Overnight CIC Financial participated in what could be the longest and most gruelling trek section they have completed yet at 84km+ in tough terrain...predictably the field was broken up hugely on this leg from the top teams right through the rankings. At Mt Catherine after CP 18 they choose the path less travelled similar to their mates Thought Sports and lost a couple hours vs the others that stuck to the ridge lines. Not the end of the world in a multi day AR race as they quickly adjusted and pushed on, making up lost time and arriving at TA4 in good time, impressively they were back on the river with little rest and now back in an amazing 11th position behind their mates Jabberwock. They are now heading downstream in the last paddling section via kayak, the dark zone is an hour and a half away where they will be forced to camp out until it is lifted for a speedy finish tomorrow.
