Yesterday, we had the privilege of facilitating a Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management (MHHM) workshop for female police personnel and staff members at the Nepal Police Circle, Durbar Marg.

A total of 16 participants attended the session at the Assembly Hall of the Durbar Marg Police Circle, where SAATH conducted a comprehensive 2.5-hour interactive workshop, followed by the distribution of Menstrual Hygiene Kits in collaboration with Danfe Works Enterprises Nepal and Dharma Karma Society. The session was facilitated by Ms. Shubhekshya Joshi, SRHR Defender at SAATH.

The workshop covered a range of important topics, including menstrual health as a human rights issue, legal rights, the menstrual cycle and its phases, menstrual hygiene products, and menstrual health management. Participants actively engaged in discussions, shared their experiences, and contributed valuable insights throughout the session.

One of the most engaging segments was the “Myth vs. Fact” activity, where participants were asked to agree or disagree with common statements related to menstruation. The exercise sparked thoughtful conversations and provided an opportunity to hear diverse perspectives from the officers on issues that are both deeply personal and critically important to women's health and well-being.

We are grateful to Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr. Narayan Dangi for his support and encouragement in making this initiative possible and for welcoming it as part of the team's ongoing efforts toward awareness and well-being.

Sujana and Rosana graduated from our 8-month training program last year. This year, they joined our production unit while also supporting our Lead Trainer as Assistant Trainers.

Willing, dedicated, and unique in their own ways, they bring different personalities to the workplace yet come together with a shared commitment to delivering the training effectively. This transition has been instrumental in their growth, encouraging them to step outside their comfort zones, build confidence, and take on new responsibilities with determination.

We don’t often talk openly about periods, reproductive health, or our rights, but these topics affect us every day.

Through Dulaari, our project on SRHR, we’ve started conversations that matter.

In this video, Sushmita, Operation and Sales Assistant at Danfe Works talks about how learning about SRHR has made a huge difference in her life.
