Location: Kathmandu, Nepal (with flexible remote and International options)
Offered Salary: Starting from NPR 100,000+ per month (negotiable based on experience)

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Software & Datacentre Support Engineer with proven expertise in:

✅ Tuning and administering Nginx and Apache 2+ web servers for high-traffic applications
✅ Performance optimization and advanced troubleshooting of PostgreSQL and Oracle databases
✅ Application layer performance tuning based on the 7-layer OSI model (with emphasis on Layer 7 - Application Layer)
✅ Supporting mission-critical deployments in a datacentre environment

This role combines hands-on systems engineering with proactive performance optimization, ensuring our SaaS and cloud products remain robust, secure, and performant.

Key Responsibilities
Web Server Management:

Configure, maintain, and optimize Nginx for high availability and load balancing

Implement caching strategies, SSL/TLS hardening, and security best practices

Database Optimization:

Tune PostgreSQL configurations (shared buffers, work_mem, vacuum strategies)

Manage and optimize Oracle instances (indexes, tablespaces, query plans)

Proactively monitor performance bottlenecks

Application Layer Tuning:

Analyze traffic and performance at Layer 7 of the OSI model

Optimize API endpoints and middleware throughput

Reduce latency and improve response times

Systems Support & Troubleshooting:

Respond to escalated incidents impacting production systems

Develop automation scripts and monitoring dashboards

Collaboration & Documentation:

Work closely with software engineering and infrastructure teams

Maintain clear operational documentation and playbooks

Requirements
Must-Have Skills:

3+ years hands-on experience with Nginx administration in production

Solid experience in PostgreSQL and Oracle tuning and maintenance

Proficiency in Linux systems administration (Ubuntu/CentOS)

Familiarity with the 7-layer OSI model, especially Application Layer performance concepts

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Preferred:

Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines

Scripting in Bash/Python
