Nepal’s economy grew 4.61% last year.
Road crashes cost 7% of GDP.
We are losing faster than we are growing.
Swipe to see what that number really means — in remittances, budgets, and lives.
Road safety is not optional. It is economic survival.

On March 31, we formally submitted our recommendations on the National Road Safety Act, identifying 6 major gaps in the current draft. We sent it via email to the secretary and the spokesperson of the Ministry Of Physical Infrastructure and Transport.
In a digital-first governance system, acknowledgement should be immediate.
We are still waiting.
Day 5 of waiting for our recommendations to be acknowledged.

2,500 families lose someone every year on Nepal's roads. This policy could change that - or it could repeat the failure of the last one.
The draft is still open. The gaps can still be closed. But only if we demand it. Now.

Share this. Make the gaps impossible to ignore.

On Chaitra 14, the government published its 100-point governance agenda.
Most people won’t read it. We did.
Here is what the data shows as of March 30:
- 100 commitments made
- 0 completed
- 14 in progress
- 86 not yet started
- Overall progress: 14%
The two commitments that matter most for road safety:
#097 Free Blue Bus for women - NOT STARTED. 98 days left.
#098 CCTV + SOS in public transport - NOT STARTED. 28 days left.
7 people die on Nepal’s roads every single day. If even two of these commitments are implemented properly, lives will be saved.
We’re watching. And we’ll tell you exactly what happens.

Sharing a few moments from the 'CERT - Emergency Response Application' launch event hosted by HAPSA at Durbar High School.
Read a news coverage about the event here: https://en.setopati.com/social/165461
We are pleased to announce the launch the 'CERT - Emergency Response Mobile Application', an educational application with 19 videos teaching the community responders to perform first aid on emergency situations like road traffic injuries, cardiac arrest, bleeding, choking and other similar emergencies.
We developed the application free of cost for HAPSA. The videos in the application was produced with the help of Global Health Media Program.
As technology is in the heart of what we do at Sadak Sathi, we are proud of this initiative and hope that it will help educate people in the rural parts of Nepal where proper healthcare is hours away.
The application runs offline, hence being more useful in times when there is no internet access.
For android users, you can access the application here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.emergency.toolkit&pcampaignid=web_share
Coming soon in Apple App Store.
We would greatly appreciate feedback as this is still a work in progress as we look to make it more user friendly and interactive in the future.
