Namaste everyone 🙏
Sharing an update from the Tiji Festival 2026 happening in Lo Manthang, Mustang (May 13–15, 2026).
The Tiji Festival, known as “Tempa Chirim,” meaning Prayer for World Peace, is one of the most sacred festivals of the Himalayan region.
Celebrated annually in Lo Manthang, the ancient walled capital of Mustang, this three-day festival features vibrant masked dances and sacred chants performed by the monks of Lo Manthang Monastery. Preserved for more than three centuries, the ritual symbolizes the triumph of good over evil ,depicting the deity Dorje Jono defeating a demon to protect the kingdom and bring peace and harmony to the world.
A truly spiritual and cultural celebration in the heart of the Himalayas.
