The Dairy Development Corporation (DDC) was established in 2026 BS (1969 AD) under the direct initiative and developmental vision of King Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah. 😮

The corporation was designed to transform the rural economy while also safeguarding public health in growing urban centers.

During the Panchayat era, King Mahendra of Nepal promoted state-led industrialization and import substitution.

Since Nepal was largely an agricultural economy at the time, his government focused on establishing national institutions to channel rural production into organized economic growth.
