Nepal Disabled Human Rights Center

DHRC team along with the FWDN representative, recently visited Thakre Rural Municipality in Dhading District, where our USAID Inclusive Livelihood Central Activity, in partnership with Disability Welfare Association Dhading, has been empowering people with disabilities for the past 2 years.
Through income-generating activities, participants are gaining acceptance and creating more opportunities in their community. A big thank you to Mr. Sudip Dawadi, Program Coordinator at Disability Welfare Association Dhading, for his support during the visit, and to everyone in Thakre Municipality involved in this impactful program!

Today afternoon Gokarneshwor Municipality Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Yam Narayan Gauli, Municipality Account Officer Mr. Ramji Rayamaji and Women Children and Social Welfare Section Officer Ms, Bhima Thapa comes to our office for the annual Monitoring and Evaluation of the activities run by us in the economic years 2081/081.
During the meeting Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Gauli was impressed by our activities that have been running for the socio-economic upliftment of the PWDs in Nepal. He was also impressed by our Disability Voice TV & Radio program which has been the tools for establishing the rights of PWDs in Nepal since long. Mr.Gauli also committed to formulate a new program for organizations like us in the coming days from the Municipality.
We are thankful for the Municipality team for their valuable time and guidance for us.

On 16th May 2024 Under Norec’s “Empowering Persons with Disabilities through Mutual Learning” project, We distributed the home based Reading Table, Stationery etc. to promote home based reading campaign for children with disabilities of Khagendra New Life Special School located at Gokarneshwor 6 Kathamandu.
This will supports the children with disabilities for their conductive learning environment at their home for their educational development and will also motivate themselves in the education.
The distribution program was attended by Ms. Sannani Lama, Deputy Mayor of Gokarneshwor Municipality along with Ms. Bhima Thapa, Officer of Social Welfare and Inclusion Branch, of Gokarneshwor Municipality.
