1. Who is the Nepali doctor awarded with the prestigious ISA award given by the state of Bahrain?

Senior Ophthalmologist Dr.Sanduk Ruit, He was honored with the prestigious 'Isa Award' worth 1 million dollars (about 13 crore rupees).
An organization called 'Isa Award for the Service to Humanity' in Bahrain has announced that Ruit's name will be chosen and awarded on January 17, 2023.

Established in 2009 in the name of Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the former King of Bahrain, the Isa Award has been awarded since 2013.

This award will be given every two years to those who do excellent human service and fight for the protection of human life.

Dr. Ruit, who returned the lost eyesight of thousands of people. Ruit is the Founder and Executive Director of Tilganga Eye Institute. He is the first person to receive this award from Nepal.

Previously, Ruit was awarded with the Roman Magsaysay Award of Malaysia in 2006, the Order of Australia in 2007 and the Padma Shri Award in 2018 (awarded by the Government of India) and the Philippine Cassis Award.
