Our amazing Research Coordinator, Ms. attended the 6th UN-RBHR forum.

RBHR is an annual event co-organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO), International Organization for Migration (IOM), Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), United
Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights (UNWG).

Each year the forum centers around different theme to promote responsible business conduct across the world.

This year's theme was: 'The remedy blueprint; bridging gaps and accelerating access'

Key Takeaways (Shared by Ms. Jha)

1. The need for a business house to act responsibly and comply with human rights instruments, and adhere to due diligence.

2. The need to center all corporate and government discussions around, human rights due diligence both for the people and the environment

3. The discussions around the rights of migrant workers, modern-day slavery, building a safe workplace for everyone, and corporate environment responsibility only find greater relevance with each passing day.

4. Discussion around the need for CSDDD in Asia, does Asia really need a CSDDD, will CSDDD become the magic pill creating accountability, transparency in the global supply chain?

5. The forum also drew attention to the role of National Contact Points for Responsible Business Conduct, in providing avenues for remedy in the Asia-Pacific.
